Ingredients:
- 250 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cut into cubes
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 bell pepper (capsicum), thinly sliced
- 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoons corn flour (cornstarch)
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- Spring onions for garnish (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
-
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, black pepper powder, and salt to form a marinade.
-
Add paneer cubes to the marinade and toss gently to coat them evenly. Allow the paneer to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
-
After marinating, sprinkle corn flour over the paneer cubes and toss gently to coat them evenly with the flour.
-
Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated paneer cubes to the pan in a single layer. Fry the paneer cubes until they turn golden brown and crisp on all sides. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
-
In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Add chopped onions, sliced bell peppers, and green chilies. Sauté them on high heat for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened yet retain their crunch.
-
Return the fried paneer cubes to the pan with the vegetables. Toss everything together gently.
-
Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds if desired.
-
Serve hot as an appetizer or as a side dish with noodles or fried rice.
