Delicious Paneer Chili Dry

This Paneer Chili Dry recipe offers a delectable blend of nutrients. Paneer, a rich source of protein and calcium, serves as the primary ingredient, providing essential amino acids for muscle repair and bone health. The bell peppers contribute an abundance of Vitamin C, aiding in immune function and collagen production. Additionally, onions offer antioxidants and prebiotic fibers that promote gut health and may reduce inflammation. Green chilies contain capsaicin, known for its potential metabolism-boosting effects and vitamin A content. However, individuals should adjust the spice level according to personal preference. The incorporation of spices like ginger, garlic, and black pepper not only enhances flavor but also provides potential anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits. Overall, this dish balances protein, vitamins, and antioxidants, making it a flavorful and nutritious addition to your meal.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cut into cubes
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper (capsicum), thinly sliced
  • 2-3 green chilies, finely chopped (adjust according to your spice preference)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour (cornstarch)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Spring onions for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, black pepper powder, and salt to form a marinade.

  2. Add paneer cubes to the marinade and toss gently to coat them evenly. Allow the paneer to marinate for about 15-20 minutes.

  3. After marinating, sprinkle corn flour over the paneer cubes and toss gently to coat them evenly with the flour.

  4. Heat oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated paneer cubes to the pan in a single layer. Fry the paneer cubes until they turn golden brown and crisp on all sides. Remove them from the pan and set aside.

  5. In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed. Add chopped onions, sliced bell peppers, and green chilies. Sauté them on high heat for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened yet retain their crunch.

  6. Return the fried paneer cubes to the pan with the vegetables. Toss everything together gently.

  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds if desired.

  8. Serve hot as an appetizer or as a side dish with noodles or fried rice.
