Once upon a time in a busy anthill, there lived a tiny ant named Arlo.

Arlo was not like the other ants. While the others worked hard carrying crumbs, building tunnels, and marching in lines, Arlo loved to stare at the sky. He would watch butterflies flutter, birds soar, and dragonflies dance in the wind.

“I wish I could fly,” Arlo whispered every day, looking up with big, curious eyes.

The other ants would laugh.
“We’re built for the ground,” added the old ant guard.
“You'll never fly, Arlo,” they all said kindly, but firmly.

But Arlo didn’t stop dreaming.

One breezy morning, Arlo found a feather on the ground. It was soft, striped, and just his size.

He had an idea.

With help from a friendly caterpillar named Coco, Arlo tied the feather to a leaf using spider silk they borrowed from a kind old spider. They built a tiny glider and climbed up a tall flower stem.

“Ready?” Coco asked nervously.

Arlo took a deep breath. “Yes. I may not have wings, but I have dreams.”

Then—whoooosh!

The wind lifted the leaf glider into the air. Arlo’s eyes lit up. He wasn’t walking. He wasn’t crawling. He was flying!

Even if only for a moment, Arlo soared above the garden, over petals and puddles, his tiny heart filled with joy.

The other ants gasped in amazement.

“He’s really doing it!” shouted Ava.
“He’s flying!” cried the old guard.

Arlo floated down gently and tumbled into a dandelion puff. He was dizzy and smiling.

“I told you,” he said proudly, “even ants can fly—if they dare to dream.”

From that day on, the other ants looked at the sky a little more often. And sometimes, just sometimes, you’d see tiny leaf-gliders swooping gently through the breeze.
