Expectant mother Suki Waterhouse reveals that her red Valentino gown had to undergo tailoring to "accommodate the bump" at the 2023 Emmy Awards.

Suki Waterhouse, pregnant with her first child, showcased a red Valentino gown at the 2023 Emmy Awards. The actress, known for her role in "Daisy Jones & the Six," disclosed that the dress required significant tailoring to suit her baby bump. Waterhouse expressed excitement about the Valentino look, explaining that the initial fitting involved holding the dress against her body. The redesign process proved successful, and she was pleased with the final result on the red carpet. The actress joined other celebrities at the Emmy Awards, contributing to a night of notable fashion moments.

Suki Waterhouse is embracing maternity fashion at the 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards. The 32-year-old actress, known for her role in Daisy Jones & the Six, graced the red carpet on television's grandest night in a stunning red Valentino cutout gown. The dress elegantly showcased the back and sides of her baby bump, featuring a bow at its base and practical pockets.

Having recently revealed her pregnancy with Robert Pattinson, Waterhouse shared with E! News that designers had to undergo a significant redesign process to ensure the dress complemented her pregnant figure. "I was genuinely excited about this Valentino look. I had tried it on a couple of months ago, but it didn't quite fit – I had to hold it against my body during the fitting. They had to deconstruct and redesign the dress to accommodate the bump," she explained. "Fortunately, it all came together, and I'm delighted with how it turned out."

Following a delay due to labor strikes in Hollywood, the Emmy Awards made a triumphant return on Monday night, bringing with it what could be deemed the television industry's grandest fashion spectacle.

Despite the carpet adopting a gray hue, the absence of red was not evident, a trend also notably embraced at the recent Golden Globes. Bows, an ubiquitous accessory in 2023, maintained their popularity: Riley Keough adorned a black bow in her hair, while Suki Waterhouse from "Daisy Jones and the Six" and Quinta Brunson, the actress and screenwriter of "Abbott Elementary," both incorporated bows into their gowns. (Notably, Ms. Waterhouse's was positioned beneath her baby bump.)

The ceremony celebrated television programs aired in the past year and 2022, offering a chance for audiences to reconnect with casts such as that of "White Lotus" Season 2. Some cast members used the occasion to pay homage to the show's setting by donning creations from Italian designers. Meghann Fahy opted for a rosette-adorned strapless gown by Armani (in red); Simona Tabasco showcased a full-skirted, floral Marni; and Jennifer Coolidge graced the carpet in a sheer dress by Etro.

In the midst of a carpet adorned with feathers, beads, sequins, diamonds, and an array of well-tailored suits, the following 15 outfits truly stood out, whether for better or worse.
